On Wednesday, September 22, 2010 Flagstaff joined the World CarFree Network to promote alternatives to car dependence and automobile-based planning and saved almost 6,000 miles of driving. A car-light community facilitates healthier lifestyles, builds tighter-knit and safer community, improves air quality, mitigates climate change, increases affordability, and promotes national security by lowering dependence on oil.
